About IBD Care

What this site is

IBD Care is a clinical decision-support and education resource for inflammatory bowel disease. It brings together validated disease activity indices, a treat-to-target planner, symptom-led clinical guides, a case simulator and live literature feeds in one place.

It is built for qualified healthcare professionals who already know how to apply these instruments. It is not a patient information service, not a diagnostic device, and not a substitute for clinical judgement.

All clinical content, scoring implementations and original artwork on this site are his own work. The site is a personal professional project. It is published in a personal capacity and carries no formal institutional endorsement.

How the content is built

Scores and indices are implemented from their original publications, and each calculator cites the source it was built from. Where a threshold comes from a later paper rather than the original description, that paper is cited alongside it.

Guideline-derived recommendations are attributed to the body that issued them — ECCO, BSG, AGA, ACG, IOIBD and the STRIDE consensus among others — and are cited rather than reproduced.

Literature listings are built live from PubMed each time the relevant page is opened. Those listings are not reviewed before they appear, and are labelled as such.

What it does not do

• It does not recommend or change treatment. The treat-to-target planner sets monitoring targets and intervals; it does not decide therapy.
• It does not store or transmit patient data. Scores you save stay in your own browser.
• It does not claim that any institution has reviewed or endorsed its content.

Corrections
