Clinical decision support tool for vedolizumab response.
Crohn'sPrognosisDecision tool
Clinical indication
Estimation of the probability of response to vedolizumab in Crohn's disease, from prior anti-TNF exposure, prior surgery, fistulising disease, albumin and C-reactive protein.
What is scored
The calculator collects 5 items:
Prior anti-TNF exposure
Prior bowel surgery
Prior fistulizing disease
Baseline serum albumin
Baseline C-reactive protein
Any item left blank stops the score being calculated — an incomplete form never reports as remission.
Interpretation
≤ 13
Low probability
> 13 – 19
Intermediate probability
> 19
High probability
Bands as implemented in IBD Care. A band is a description of the score, not an instruction.
Limitations
A post-hoc prediction tool derived from GEMINI 2 and validated in an observational cohort, with modest discrimination for clinical remission (area under the curve around 0.67). It estimates probability across a group; it does not tell you what will happen to one patient, and it is not a licensing or funding criterion.
